What I particularly like about my work at the ECB

I decided to join the ECB in 2007, having been attracted by its diversity ‒ both in terms of people and the type of work. I am in charge of legal drafting and legal translation projects, and give advice in our fields of competence, namely legislative and linguistic quality standards and procedures. I work in a friendly and supportive environment, being part of a truly multicultural team of more than 30 people from all Member States.

How my work makes a difference

I coordinate drafting of the ECB’s legal acts and instruments, and thus help ensure that our mandate ‒ maintaining price stability ‒ is fulfilled in a legally sound manner. This contributes to the credibility of the ECB towards the public and its partners.

I am also proud for having been involved in the preparations for Lithuania joining the euro area on 1 January 2015.

What I like about Frankfurt

I enjoy my time with the bank’s Lithuanian community (we share a lot of activities such as playing basketball). The other great thing is Frankfurt’s geographical location ‒ for someone from the North, the climate is lovely.

Moreover, Frankfurt is cosmopolitan and has an excellent infrastructure. The city’s public transport and public services make it very convenient to live here and explore the surrounding area. All in all, Frankfurt has allowed me to enjoy life and also made me more open-minded.
